"Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Marília and I am 23 years old. I am from São Paulo, Brazil! A very big city with many things to do and to see as art's exhibitions and others cultural matters.
I've started to work since I was 14 years old, what gave me a huge opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
My experience with kids has started with my cousins, where I took care of them during a certain period of time.
The first one is Gabriel, he was 6 years old and I helped him doing home work together, playing with him and feeding him.
The second one is Lorenzo, he was 2 years old and I was always around to control his routine about timetables to eat, to play, to have a nap and all other things related to a kid of his age.
The most recent experience was when I worked in a school of children as volunteer, helping the teachers with kids from 1 year old till 6 years old. They had a lot of activities during the day, where I could help them to make their work in the class, using exercises for motor coordination and many others for their own development. That was a really great experience to be with kids, what made me a much more responsible and patience person. Besides that it's very important to be organized in a daily routine with kids, even though we know it could be a challenge sometimes.
As my hobbies I like to read books, listen to music, drawing&panting and to do a lot of arts&crafts, so if your kid has some of this characteristics it can be a great match!
Now, talking a bit about me, I am a very calm, honest, fair and humane person. I live with my mother, my cat, Caju and my dog Kenia in Brazil. I always had the normal regular life, working and studying, going out with friends sometimes, but at one point I wanted something else and the opportunity of becoming an Au Pair in another country opened the door I was looking for! So to be an Au pair for me is much more than only travel, is to get to know a new culture, participating in traditions, trying new foods and every day opening your mind more and more, where all this process makes you be a better person to the world. So from my year as Au Pair I expect to make difference to my Host Family and to live in a place with an harmonious coexistence, a lot peace, respect and dialogue.

With love,
Marília F."

First Letter:
"Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Marília, I’m a 23-year-old Brazilian and Future Au Pair. Currently I live with my mother, Magali and my grandmother, Nair. My mother is a 57-year-old housewife, widow and graduated psychologist, but she never acted in her formation’s area. She always took care of us, before and after my father died when I was 8 years old. My grandmother Nair is 88 years old and retired. She lives with us now, once she can’t live alone anymore, because of her age and health. I also have a sister and her name is Raquel. She lived with us before, but currently she is an Au Pair in The USA for almost 2 years now.
We are living in a small house with 3 rooms (1 kitchen, 1 room, 1 bedroom) and 1 bathroom, with 2 cats and 2 dogs. We are constructing a new house in the backyard, with more space and there are 6 rooms (1 kitchen, 1 room, 4 bedrooms) and 3 bathrooms, where we will live with more comfort.
My mother always imposes rules to me and my sister. As to accomplish schedules, to organize our own things, to be organized, to tell where we are and with who we are. She always gives us values as respect each other’s and ourselves, to be polite, to be true, to be strong as a person, to be fair and principally to be honest, always.
After I finished high school in 2013, I started to do a course about Interior Design that I won from the government, this course finished in 2015. After that, I did more courses involved in this area of architecture and in 2016, I started to do an architecture’s college. But I stopped after almost 1 year. In April 2017, I started to study English. My English’s classes will be done in October of this year, so I’m studying English for almost 1 year. I can see that I'm learning fast and usually it's not difficult for me to learn something new.
Nowadays I’m doing a course about eyebrow design, I’m working in a store called Clube Melissa and I’m used to helping kids in a school close to my house as a voluntary. It's named “Recanto Infantil Futuro Geninho” and there are kids from 1 years old to 5 years old and I go there every Thursdays and Fridays. There I’m a helper of the kids, so I help them to do their tasks, to change their clothes if necessary, I help them in the bathroom, I help them in the moment of the snack and lunch’s time and I play with them. I also help the teachers to teach them some activity for stimulate motor coordination or a new game and to watch the kids playing in the park. Watching their behaviour and if necessary to give them a punishment with a dialogue.
Before I used to take care of Lorenzo, who is my cousin. He is 4 years old now and I used to be with him on the weekends, when his parents needed to work. So I needed to watch his behaviour, to make and give snacks, to lunch/dinner with him, to play, to dance and to draw with him and to give a shower. I also used to take care of Gabriel, he was 5 years old when I lived with him and his family in a place called Caraguatatuba. Which lies in São Paulo’s North Coast, where I lived for 6 months from December of 2015 to June 2016. I took care of Gabriel, help him to do his homework, to give shower, to help in the lunch/dinner’s time, to prepare him to go to bed. Besides that, I helped them with some household chores as do the dishes, make lunch/dinner, to keep the house and my bedroom organized and cleaned, and to do the laundry.
I’m an honest, true, fair and humane person and my friends and I consider me as a very calm and patience person. In my point of view, they're my strengths. The points for improvement is to become more openminded to new customs and cultures and to learn the point of view of another person. I also need to learn to have an open opinion about something that I believe to be right or wrong and improve my knowledge with a good conversation and to be a person less stubborn.
I used to do yoga some years ago, but now I always try to meditate when I have some time. I like to work, to be with my family and friends as much as possible and I like to read books, watching movies and series. I love to live with pets also, because since when I was born, I have them in my life. I also like to go to the theater, movies, exhibitions and I love things related with art! Because of this I also really love to draw or to paint sometimes, so if you have an artistic kid I could help with it! And of course, I love to be with kids and to receive a hug of them without a reason and to see in their faces a beautiful smile loaded with sincerity and innocence. Because of this I want to be an Au Pair, to live a new experience in my life, with a true admire of the kids and also to know myself better. I will win a lot with it and in return as thanks I want to help with everything that I could do to my Dear Future Host Family. Sharing customs, experiences, respect and knowledge to help making kind kids to the world.
I expect to make difference to my Host Family and to live in a place with a harmonious coexistence, with a lot peace, respect and dialogue. To my year as an Au Pair I hope to grow up as a person and to get to know new people, new places, new cultures and new customs.

Marília F."
